Dr.techn.Olav Olsen is aiming at world leading position for development of concrete platforms SRS models

Dr.techn.Olav Olsen (OO) has in 2018 significantly improved their position as leading supplier of Structural Reanalysis Systems (SRS) models of the large concrete platforms in the North Sea. OO has in the past participated in detail design of the majority of the offshore concrete platforms in the world, and our in-depth knowledge of the structures makes us well prepared for SRS analyses. Having a well-functioning and up-to-date SRS model is important for assessing for instance the effects of modifications and changing environments to existing assets.

Risenga Ice Hockey Arena

The area of Risenga in Asker is undergoing major transformations, and will, when the construction has finished, have two new schools, a sports center and an ice dome. The new ice dome will be constructed south of the existing "Askerhallen" and will be the new home ground of "Frisk Asker" hockey team.

Dr.techn.Olav Olsen attended the ICOLD Congress

At the ICOLD (International Commission on Large Dams) World Congress in June, Elisabeth Hovde (Dr. Techn. Olav Olsen) was invited to present a probabilistic analysis of the Reinoksvatn Dam. This type of analysis forms the basis for partial factors and material factors in eg. Eurocodes, and represents a new and alternative methodology for demonstrating dam safety.

Ten-year anniversary of Svalbard Global Seed Vault

After 10 years in operation, the government has awarded 100 million kroner to refurbishment of the Global Seed Vault. This is to ensure that today's access tunnel will be replaced by a robust and waterproof concrete structure. The aim of the improvement is that the plant will withstand a warmer climate in the future.
