Competence and background

The Arctic Technology Group comprises engineers with Master degrees within ice related subjects as well as engineers that have or are participating on Arctic engineering projects such as Sakhalin I, Sakhalin II, Hibernia and Shtokman CCFT. The group has field experience from Svalbard, Barents Sea and Caspian Sea as well as ice basin model testing experience from Hamburgische Schiffbau-Versuchanstalt (HSVA, Germany) and Krylov Shipbuilding and Research Institute (KSRI, Russia). The strength of Dr.techn.Olav Olsen in this field is the combination of theoretical knowledge, engineering practice and real-life experience. Adding to this the FE and hydrodynamic experts, the resource base is substantial.

The company participated on the detail design of the Hibernia platform in Canada and the platforms at Sakhalin in Russia. We have also prepared conceptual designs for offshore and coastal structures for virtually all ice infested seas world wide.
